 Local manufacturer seeking a full-time Shipping Clerk. 

 

 

DUTIES:

• Responsible for the final assembly of valve product prior to shipping. 
• Responsible for ensuring all components are packed appropriately in order to prevent damage during shipment.  
• Conducts a final quality check on valves and components prior to order being shipped,  bringing any problems to the attention of the appropriate management prior to the order  being shipped.  
• Uses department equipment and hand tools in a safe and effective manner.  
• Works closely with the Shipping Supervisor to ensure that scheduled orders go out on the planned date.  
• Data entry of shipping details into various shipping systems in an efficient and accurate  manner
• Cover the receiving department during absences.
• Conduct weekly manual inventory/shortage reports for the shipping department. 
• Other related duties as assigned. 

 

• QUALIFICATIONS:
  Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  
• Must have previous experience working in a manufacturing shipping environment
  
• Must be computer literate with data entry experience and have the aptitude to learn and effectively operate the shipping system and other department systems.  
• Ability to gain appropriate product knowledge, and understanding of company policies and procedures in a reasonable amount of time.
• Ability to operate various hand tools safely and effectively.
• Physical ability to lift up to 70 lb., push a cart weighing up to 1,000 lb., and work extended hours in a standing position. 
• Must be accurate and detail-oriented with effective communication skills, both oral and written,  with the ability to remain calm and work well under pressure.
• Ability to learn and remember part names, and part numbers.  
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. 
• Must pass a background and drug screen
