Paralegal

Law firm specializing in real estate, estate planning, civil litigation, and personal injury is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join the team.
The ideal candidate will assist in managing all phases of civil litigation cases, from pre-litigation through trial and post-trial activities. This position requires strong research, drafting, and case management skills. The Civil Litigation Paralegal will work closely with attorneys and clients, helping to prepare legal documents, conduct research, manage discovery, and support trial preparation.
Job Type: Hybrid, in-office and remote
Pay Rate: $75k +
Hours: 8am-5pm, flexible
Location: Placerville, CA
- Assist with case management and legal document preparation experience
- Assist in drafting and responding to discovery requests
- Conduct legl research on statues, case law, legal precedents, etc
- Communicate with clients to collect necessary documents, answer questions, and provide case updates
- Prepare, file and serve court documents in compliance with local and federal court rules
- Assist with the execution and filings of settlement agreements, dismissals, or consent decrees

Education:
- A Bachelor's degree or an Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field is preferred.
- Paralegal certification (e.g., NALA, NFPA) is a plus but not required.

Experience:
- Minimum of [2-5] years of experience working as a paralegal in civil litigation.
- Experience with drafting legal documents, managing discovery, and preparing for trial.
- Familiarity with case management software and e-filing systems.

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures, including familiarity with local and federal rules.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
- Strong research skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal software (e.g., Clio, LexisNexis, Westlaw, or similar case management systems).
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
