We are a global logistics company looking for an experienced Sales Representative for our Freight division at our Torrance branch.
 
Location: Torrance, CA
Pay:  $25-31hr
Job Type: Full-time; in-office

 

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for air and ocean cargo services.
  • Research and compile potential leads using various sources such as industry publications, trade shows, business directories, and online platforms.
  • Maintain and expand existing client relationships through regular on-site visits and proactive engagement.
  • Develop customized business proposals tailored to client needs.
  • Act as the first point of contact for customer inquiries, providing timely and effective solutions.

Customer and Vendor Relations

  • Build and sustain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders, including customers and vendors.
  • Maintain regular communication through phone calls and emails to ensure smooth collaboration.
  • Investigate and address customer concerns to maintain high service quality and satisfaction.

Rate Quotations & Credit Terms

  • Prepare and provide competitive rate quotations.
  • Establish credit terms for new customers in alignment with company policies.

Import/Export Operations Support

  • Assist with all aspects of import and export operations, including booking, dispatch, documentation, compliance checks, customs clearance, and brokerage.
  • Coordinate with warehouses to ensure efficient handling, notifications, and delivery of goods.

Shipment Monitoring

  • Track and oversee shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between customers and vendor services.

Internal Coordination

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external agents to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Assist in resolving logistical and operational challenges.

 

Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of Freight Sales experience
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships.
  • Negotiation skills for successful collaborations.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking abilities.
  • Project management skills for planning and execution.
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, including reading and writing in English.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Customer service-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective decision-making and sound judgment.
  • Dependable, reliable, and able to follow through on tasks.
  • Diplomacy and professionalism in interactions.
  • Proactive with strong initiative and follow-through.
  • Basic math skills for calculations and data analysis.
  • Ability to monitor, control, and assess processes effectively.
  • Effective problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Team player with strong collaboration skills.

Preferred but Not Required:

  • Japanese language proficiency (speaking and writing).
